Review of 2001

28.12.01

Everyone else seems to have done their 2001 reviews already. I'm always a little wary of doing them before the year is truly out for fear of the new year never arriving. But what the hey, I might as well get it over and done with.

2001 rates...

2 out of 10. It has been a thoroughly crap year with no moment that I particularly want to remember, bar Dublin.

High point:

Dublin and Kildare with Cathedral Choir — only four days, but thoroughly enjoyable, new sights, new experiences, new friendships. A shame I had to come home.

Low point:

Sitting exams upon exams.

Been listening to...

Radiohead Amnesiac, Joni Mitchell Both Sides Now, Beatles Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Massive Attack Blue Lines, J. S. Bach Weinachtsoratorium (Christmas Oratorio).

Been reading...

W. H. Auden Collected Poems, Seamus Heaney Opened Ground, Paul Muldoon Poems 1968-1998, Sylvia Plath Poems selected by Ted Hughes, Michael Hoffman Acrimony.

Fell in love with:

Cappuccino Grandé with extra sprinkles, the colour orange, lunching out on Sundays.

Fell out with:

The System, sub-standard wall brackets from B&Q, Pauline Cumine.
